Carnival fever grips Kenilworth

THE SUN shone brightly as carnival fever gripped Kenilworth on Saturday (July 2)
The procession, boasting floats from town schools, sports groups, charities, pubs and theatres, set off from the castle, on the traditional route through the crowd-lined streets.
And there was plenty of fun and games waiting at the the end of the route in Abbey Fields. Charity and craft stalls vied for business while, in the main ring, dance and music groups kept the bumper crowds entertained. For those of a braver nature, the Fun Fair offered white knuckle rides and chances to try your luck.
This year's Carnival Queen was 18 -year-old Hetty Jackson, who was helped on the big day by maids-of-honour Sophie Burrell and Juliette Maudsley, both 15, together with younger attendants Craig Arundell, Millie Bramwell, Josh Finch, and Antonia Riley.
Most of the money raised this year will go to the town's Waverley Day Centre.
