"I didn't know it was that close. I've been so wrapped up in these camps (that) I lost track of time, but right now I think the talks are moving a little bit slow," Durant said.

"Players want the guaranteed contracts because you never know what will happen in this league. Teams could easily say, 'We don't want this guy on our team anymore,'" Durant said.

The NBA has never been more popular in Oklahoma, and Durant said he hopes the lockout doesn't change that.

"(Thunder fans) support us in everything we do -- not just coming to games but the community events," he said.

Durant added that just like the kids who attended his camp, he wants to play basketball and have fun.
