Carolyn Boccella

An especially talented, multi-faceted woman, Carolyn graduated from Immaculata College on a mathmatics scholarship and played trumpet in the college orchestra.

For more than 50 years, she lived in Bristol with her husband, Dr. Ralph Boccella (now deceased) and children, and was a faithful parishoner at St. Ann. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Bristol Borough Senior Center.

As a math teacher at Bristol High School, Carolyn dedicated her life to encouraging students to achieve a solid educational foundation. While teaching full-time, she also earned a Master of Science degree from Trenton State College. Carolyn was a life time member of both the National Education Association and the Pennsylvania Education Association.

Carolyn was an artist, musician, and seamstress who enjoyed traveling, reading, and puzzles. Often seen with her rosary or prayer cards, Carolyn was a devout Catholic who believed in the strength of the tight-knit family. As a mother of five, she took pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and often beamed with joy when she shared in their stories and learned of their achievements.

She will be sadly missed by her family, Nicholas Boccella and wife, Frances, of Morristown, N.J., Rosemary Boccella and partner, Diana Leferovich, of Holland, Carolyn Boccella Bagin and her husband, Richard, of Rockville, Md., Ralph Boccella Jr. and Nancy Boccella of Atlanta, Ga., Amy Schwar and her husband, John, of Phoenixville, Pa. Her grandchildren include Elizabeth and Annie Boccella, Mark and Kyle Bagin, and Jarrod and Daniel Boccella, and Michael and Jessica Justice-Eck. She also is survived by her great-grand children, Simon and Miles Justice- Eck; a sister, Helen Viggiano; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe St., Bristol Borough, followed by her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ann Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Alzheimers Association Delaware Valley Chapter Headquarters 399 Market St. Suite 102 Philadelphia, PA 19106.
