OFWS urged to file for exit clearance upon arriving for vacation in Manila

Manila: Overseas Filipino workers were advised to file for exit clearance as soon as they arrive for vacation in Manila, if possible, or days before their flight schedule, a local paper said.

Vacationing OFWs should file for mandatory exit clearance together with their overseas employment certificates and other requirements, to the office of Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), POEA Chief Carlos Cao told the Star.

After receiving claim stubs (for properly filed papers) from the POEA, the OFWs could get their exit clearance the following day, Cao said.

“The new procedures would allow our OFWs to efficiently manage their time in securing travel exit clearance,” Cao explained.
